Stihl Battery Equipment- Is it Good Enough for the Lawn Care or Landscaping Pro?!? Blower, Chainsaw

Stan: When I was asked to do a review of the Stihl battery-powered equipment, I said, "Let me think about it." And I didn't get back to them right away, but last year at about this time, I was loading chainsaws and blowers and gear up into one of my employee's brand new Jeep. It's brand spanking new. He just pulled it off the lot, drove it out to the job site and the gas spilt all over.

Stan: I mean, it soaked the back-end of his Jeep, and it was just the worst thing ever. Then, I remembered that Stihl has been asking me to do a review of their equipment, and I thought, "Well, what the heck? It can't be worse than dumping gasoline all over the back of a brand new Jeep." I figured I'd give it a review, and get back to you guys and let you guys know what I think of it.

Stan: But, it's not just what I think of it. I've actually put it into the hands of the guys that have to work with it every single day, and I got their opinion as well. Let's see how this turns out.

Building a Big Staircase Over a Landscape Retaining Wall & Connecting it with a Bridge to a Patio

Speaker 1: So the story starts out, we built these beautiful boulder retaining walls on this property that we're going to sell. And after we get the walls all done, my wife looks at me and says, "Well those look nice, but how's anybody going to get up to the upper patio if they want to get there from the driveway?"

Speaker 1: You could've said something before I had the walls finished, Honey.

Speaker 1: And so I looked at Frank, and I said, "Hey, let's build some stairs over the retaining wall, and then let's build a bridge to the patio."

Speaker 1: Now normally guys, I don't like to build stairs over. I kind of like to build them through and incorporate them in, so I want to hear from you on this video as you watch it, let me know. Do you like this idea? Do you like this design? Good, bad, or in between, lay it on me. I just want your guys' opinion on this one.

Speaker 1: Oh here's another fun thing I do Guys. On today's video I take all of Frankie's tools and I ask him, "Just use...

4...no 5 Main Tools that All Landscape or Lawn Care Contractors Need

Stan: Four. For 33 years, I thought that there were four basic pieces of equipment, that as long as any landscape company owned, they could tackle just about any project. Then three years ago, on a pure whim, I picked up what's going to turn out to be number five. It didn't become number five right away. In fact, it didn't become number five until I noticed that on every single one of our projects, the crews would eventually bring it out and put it to work. Sometimes, they would put it to work every single day in the project. Other times, they would only bring it out until the very end of the job. Nevertheless, it always went out on every single one of our jobs.

Stan: Now, when some of you guys find out what this tool is, you're gonna go, no way, no how. That's fine. I don't care, because I would have said the same thing four years ago before I owned one. I would have never guessed that this thing would become such an asset to our company, so I don't blame you for not believing me....

Lawn and Yard Care Tips - Aeration, DeThaching, Overseeding for a Gorgeous DIY lawn

There is a brand new phenomenal technology that's finally available to us. it's called core airvation. What? Do you like it? We're going to discuss that in comparison to dethatching and in comparison to core aeration and there are critical differences.

Core Airvation

In this video, we're going to cover them plus when you would want to do each service. I own a detaching unit. I've never used it at my own house. I rent the core aeration plug machines.  I've never used it on my own property.  As soon as I was able to get my hands on the core airvator, I went over my own yard not once, not twice, but fifteen times. About how many times have you gone over this spot do you think? And the grass is not destroyed? No. What is a core aeration or simply put soil fractionation and I know that's not really putting anything very simple but what it does is it literally drive spikes into the ground and then as those spikes are very below ground the shake rattle and roll. And they loosen...
